Ian Thomas attended Digital Harbor High School in Baltimore, Md. He played two seasons for Indiana after transferring from Nassau Community College (Garden City, N.Y.). In 2017, Thomas was All-Big Ten Honorable Mention and finished second among Big Ten tight ends with 15.0 yards per reception (4th nationally). Thomas tied for third among tight ends in the conference with five receiving touchdowns (T-12th nationally) and averaged 37.6 receiving yards per game. His touchdowns and yardage rank seventh all-time on Indiana's single-season tight ends list. Thomas was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2018 Draft (101st overall). "
