Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Alexandro Pacheco began writing short stories and treatments for telenovelas at a very early age. As the only child of a single, immigrant mother from Mexico, he was inspired by his experiences growing up in Pilsen, a predominantly-hispanic artist's community on the southwest side of Chicago. In 2000, Alexandro moved to New York City where he pursued a career in fundraising and special events. For 11 years, he worked for the Mark Morris Dance Group, creating and producing special events and education-based projects. In 2005, he began a new phase in his career at the Dance Group, envisioning a month-long, New York City-wide celebration in honor of the dance company's 25th anniversary season: 3 photography and fine art exhibitions, public talks with luminaries; a variety of symposia and film series; and the creation of a full color, 64-page commemorative program - all under his supervision. The success of that season sparked the creation of ACCESS/MMDG, touring versions of his programming, managed and produced under the auspices of a department he ran until 2012. When not creating special projects, he edited promotional videos, website special content pages and documentaries. His responsibilities expanded further, managing and negotiated ballet commissions for the choreographer. He left the company to create special content for other artists and, in 2015, he was invited back to supervise the build of a major exhibition at the National Museum of Dance in honor of the choreographer's induction into the Vanderbilt Dance Hall of Fame (Saratoga, NY.) The exhibition remained on view for one year. In 2017, Pacheco made the decision to return to school in pursuit of a career in the film industry. By May 2018, he was a Phi Theta Kappa Honors graduate of Borough of Manhattan Community College and had been accepted into the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television at Tisch School of the Arts. New York University. An active member of the Tisch community, he produced and/or directed 10 productions in just two years, including his award-winning documentary, The Unicorn, which screened in Hamburg, Germany. He received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship in 2019 and spent a semester abroad studying 35mm filmmaking at Prague's FAMU, one of Europe's elite film schools. He graduated Cum Laude from New York University in May 2020. He edited his senior thesis film, Ideologies & The Promise, during the COVID-19 isolation period. In 2021, he produced a series of 4 live streams online, as an experiment in marketability and lack of access to conversation. The monthly "live streams" played to private audiences, invited to partake in an exploration of the themes in the thesis film. The live streams featured members of the creative team and was an experiment in conversation. Pacheco is in development of his own original work while he pursues production work in the film industry.
