Etta East

Etta East is an Atlanta, GA based writer & director. She has a background in Journalism but evolved her passion for writing into Film. She is a well versed screenwriter who studied in Clayton States Film & Digital Media program. She has interned with the likes of 21st Century Leaders on their Youth Advisory Board w/ Turner Broadcasting and CNN as well as interned and worked w/ Brilliant Consulting, a premier entertainment event company, at some of the biggest film festivals in the world including Sundance and TIFF. Her writing studies led her to being accepted into a film program in France during the Canne Film Festival, the biggest Film Festival in the world, in which a film she penned won best film w/ the Creative Mind Group, a popular film program. In Summer 2018, she launched her multimedia and collaborative production hub, 1DISTRKT, which houses both her work as well as work of her film partners including short films, music videos, web series and soon to include feature film and television projects. Also, in 2019, she co-founded and launched a non-profit community for filmmakers beyond the screen called Film Family. Her goal is to #ReMix the narrative and help to cultivate and expand the lane of film for POC including her families native Jamaica.
