"Love & War" became available for physical distribution at over 1,400 Tsutaya music stores, and sold out in several locations. His sophomore album "Dive" released in January 2016 and achieved similar success, hitting #1 on the iTunes R&B Charts in less than 24 hours. "Dive" was also made available in Tsutaya stores. His two singles 'Tokyo Girl' and 'My Dreams' charted at #3 and #8 respectively on the iTunes R&B Charts. After reaching critical acclaim in Japan, Matt's imprint continued to spread overseas. His single 'Color Blind' went viral in China, accruing over 158 million streams on the NetEase platform. Matt signed a digital distribution deal with Priority Records on March 2017. Under the Priority imprint, he released his 4-track EP 'RISE' in April 2018-which was produced exclusively by Bryan-Michael Cox-and it collectively received over a half million streams on Spotify. His single 'Ain't Too Proud' charted at #4 and #67 in Taiwan and Japan respectively on Apple Music, and also charted at #35 in Latvia on Spotify. In the winter of 2018, Matt B decided to expand his passion for philanthropy and started his now annual 'Holiday Cheer Tour'. The first tour was a massive success with Matt visiting over 16 cities across the country performing to sick children in hospitals, donating toys and clothes, and performing at several Christmas festivals. In 2019, Matt B partnered with Sofar Sounds for a 16-date nationwide tour that spanned across eleven cities in the US. Following the tour, Matt had his nationwide television debut as he performed at the 2019 Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, which is the third largest parade in the country. In an effort to keep the momentum, he then released his EP 'No Days Off' in December of the same year. 'No Days Off' was well received internationally and went on to chart at #71 on the iTunes R&B chart in Taiwan. "This project truly reflected how I feel as an artist, I never take any days off," Matt said, "I'm always on the grind and trying to reach the next goal. This EP also gives straight vibes from my city, which is something I'm very proud of." 'No Days Off' also features Peabody-award winning poet and current president of the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy-J. Ivy. Matt B released his debut US album, 'Eden', on March 12, 2021. It immediately debuted at #3 in the US and #5 in Canada on the iTunes R&B/Soul Albums Chart. Additionally, 'Eden' debuted in the Top 40 on the Billboard R&B Albums Chart, landing at #39. The album also landed on three other Billboard Charts: Digital Albums, Heatseekers, and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. 'Eden' features production from Grammy-winning legends Bryan-Michael Cox and Tricky Stewart. The first single from the album, 'Go Hard', was released May 2020. The single charted #83 on Deezer and #129 on Apple Music in Egypt and Bulgaria respectively. His second single, 'Deep', released July 2020 and amassed nearly 150K streams in less than a month. "For this particular project, we were focused on telling my story in a way that not only resonates with the listener, but also gives R&B a new, fresh sound while staying true to myself," Matt said on his new album, "The album will take the listener on a journey into who I am as a person, what I've been through in my life, and more." Matt B continues to pave his own path in the mainstream industry. On his future goals, Matt said, "I'm not focused on numbers, fitting the mold, or sounding like everybody else. I just want the world to feel my energy. And if that energy impacts at least one person in a positive way, I'm successful. No number can give me that.
