Cai Barnard-Dadds is a filmmaker and writer from Wales. Born in Kingston upon Thames in London, Barnard-Dadds grew up around film often watching black and white films at his grandparents in his pre-nursery/sick days. He became interested in writing in Year 6 when he entered into poetry competitions and delved into creative writing. His poems won competitions as he earned a short stanza in the book, "Around the World in 80 Words: UK Tales'. Additionally, his poem about Queen Elizabeth can be found in a time capsule buried in Clyne Woods, not too far from his childhood home, in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Cai Barnard-Dadds later went onto study film, media and photography at A level at Olchfa Comprehensive School, before moving to Cardiff to study Film at University of South Wales' Cardiff Campus. At 17, he premiered his first short film, What Killed The Dinosaurs, which he had spent his school summer making. The film premiered alongside Ben Murphy's "The Death of Nathan Newman" at a sold out screening at Cinema & Co in the directors' hometown of Swansea. Although, mainly prioritising filmmaking, he also has a background in theatre, directing and producing the British premiere of Gabriel Bergmoser's Heroes.
