Shawn Hawthorne

Shawn Hawthorne is an American actor best known for his role as Officer Joe in the film Skateshop (2020). Shawn was born on October 16, 1973, in Houston, Texas, to mother Bonita Culbertson, a business owner, and step-father George Culbertson, a business executive. Shawn has two sisters Courtney, a veterinarian and Caroline, an editor. The family lived in lived in Houston, Texas before moving to Denver, Colorado and eventually Raleigh, North Carolina where Shawn spent the majority of his life. Hawthorne attended Millbrook High School in Raleigh, North Carolina where he performed in a number of theater productions during his time there. He attended Mount Olive College as a Business major and attended Graduate school at Colorado State University where he earned his MBA. In 2019, Shawn was approached by a local film producer about acting in the short film, Yankee Escapee (2019) where he played a prison guard seeking to capture two escaped prisoners. Since filming Yankee Escapee, Shawn has continued to work on films including projects such as An Angel Whispers (2019) and Skateshop (2020). In his personal life, Shawn is happily married to Jennifer Hawthorne, whom he met while living in Cary, NC, where she was attending school at North Carolina State University to become a veterinarian. The couple has two children, son Hayden and daughter Emma.
