Liat Benezra is a young female filmmaker born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to two immigrant parents. She has been working hard as a student and artist to follow her dreams and make her family proud. Being from Israeli and Argentinian parents, she has ties with family in every corner of the world, and speaks a whopping three languages! Liat has made several short films in the past, focusing on the concepts of gender, romance, femininity and heartbreak. She derives much of her work from real life experiences as inspiration for her screenplays and films. Liat and Shianne Yang have been best friends since 2016. They met in the hallways of CalArts, and strive to create something beautiful and memorable as they near the end of their time in school. Lisa and Liza is the duo's first feature film together, and shall be used as their senior thesis project upon completing their BFA's in Film and Video at the California Institute of the Arts.
