Born and raised in South Carolina where she learned, despite Yankee parents, to appreciate sweet tea, boiled peanuts and taking life as it comes, Kat Norcutt pursued acting at a young age, seeking out opportunities at community theatres and graduating from the conservatory-style actor training program at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. She attended Sarah Lawrence College where she studied acting, directing, dance and literature. She completed two thesis projects, both culminating in performance - a production of Sheila Callaghan's Dead City and a devised dance theatre performance based on the apocryphal book of Judith. Kat lives in Los Angeles with her rescued pup, Homer Dean, who has also appeared in film and television.
