Sohail Bisht is an actor and an author. He was born to Malu Bisht (née Rothschild), a psychologist, and Sanjeev, an actor and an ex politician whose career was cut short by the Maoist insurgency in Nepal. Coming from a prominent political family he pursues politics with great intrigue. His father is the grandson of the 5th Chief Justice of Nepal, Hon. Ratna Bahadur Bista. He is also related to the former Nepalese Prime Minister, Hon. Kirti Nidhi Bista. Other prominent relatives are Yogi Adityanath aka. Ajay Mohan Bisht who was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, India. Bisht has a younger sister who enjoys creative writing and is pursuing her studies in law. Growing up, he was diagnosed with ADD and dyslexia however his mother would encourage him to take part in movies and dramas as a child actor.She read him books from authors he preferred such as Fyodor Dostoevsky and Herman Melville. He attended William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, New York, where he graduated with honors despite learning disabilities. Bisht attended Rutgers University, where he began his philosophy major and wrote poetry. In 2014, Bisht was awarded the Deans list for his academic achievements. Soon after, he won a stock picking contest and used the prize money to fund his first book. After college, Bisht moved to New York to work in real estate and founded his firm, The Vitellius Group.
