Born in Buenos Aires in 1978, Ana Laura Monserrat obtained her PhD in Biology at the University of Buenos Aires in 2010, but dropped her research career to dedicate to Filmmaking. She took diverse seminars and workshops in plastic arts, photography, script writing and actors direction and finally graduated as Filmmaker Director at ENERC in 2016. She was invited to participate as a filmmaker in China in the Looking China Project during 2017, repeating the experience in 2020, this time working online. Her first feature film "Maquina para ver el alma" (Machine for the aura) was selected in Sitges Coming Soon 2020. She also works as a consultant in Natural Science for the Ministry of Education in Argentina.
