Emmanuel Andrew HUI is a Co-founder of Moogene, a gene therapy company listed on the Korean stock exchange (322970.KS). He also manages a spin-off company Angene Biotechnology - a cancer diagnostic startup backed by the Hong Kong Government Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). HUI is an investor at Sagamore Investments / Impact Asia, a private equity firm with a mission "to engineer capital opportunities in Asia that foster sustainable, ethical and socially impactful development". He is also a Board Member of the Hong Kong Children's Hospital Research Ethics Committee and is a trustee of the Bamboo School (Thailand) - a children's refuge and clinic on the Thai-Myanmar border. Artistically, HUI is a multi-instrumentalist with a primary discography in jazz violin. He was a gifted child case study in The Oxford Handbook of Children's Musical Cultures alongside his close friend and renowned composer Elliot Leung. HUI made his first TV appearance at 4 years old in a government PSA and has since performed in numerous professional productions spanning musical theatre, orchestra, radio, television, and film. He trained in Jazz and Contemporary dance under Rico Tsoi (Teresa Carpio, Dancehouse), and instrumental jazz under Fred Haas (Oscar Peterson, Pat Metheney, Clark Terry). HUI graduated from Dartmouth as a Senior Fellow (Chemistry) and is well published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals.
