Jonathan Anomaly was born in Hawaii and grew up in Southern California. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied philosophy and economics. He obtained a Master's degree from Columbia University, and a PhD from Tulane University, where he was awarded a fellowship from the Murphy Institute of Political Economy. Dr. Anomaly has taught at many universities around the USA, including Duke and Penn. He has held visiting positions at the universities of Oxford and Gothenburg, as well as Arizona and San Diego, and recently established the first Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) program in Latin America. His first book, Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (Oxford University Press, 2015), was co-authored with Geoff Brennan, Mike Munger, & Geoff Sayre-McCord. This book has been widely used in PPE programs around the world, and has a corresponding video series to illustrate core concepts. Anomaly's second book, Creating Future People, explores how our ability to manipulate the genetic endowment of our children is likely to transform the human race.
