Mace Phoenix is a young British actor that was born in Sheffield and moved to London before he was one. Mace's grandparents were all immigrants and he is of French, Armenian, Indian, German, Irish, Romany Gypsy heritage. Mace trained with the renowned Chickenshed Theatre Company for most of his youth with its inclusive youth theatre in Southgate, London. Between 2012 and 2018 Mace performed in over ten of Chickenshed's main thrust stage plays to the public and in over one hundred professional performances including The Midnight Gang in 2017 and Mr Stink in 2018 where David Walliams OBE debuted his two books into stage plays. In 2017, Mace was invited to attend a casting for the lead role in a Steven Spielberg film to play a young Jewish boy, Mace was shortlisted and moved from stage into screen acting. Maces screen acting career started in 2019 when he was invited to Chicago to film a short film. In 2020, Sir Tom Stoppard's West End's play Leopoldstadt directed by Patrick Marber debuted and won a prestigious Olivier Award, Mace was cast in 2021 to play the Lead Leo, a young Jewish boy. Mace was later selected to understudy the character Leo in the NT Live filming of Leopoldstadt. Mace is a natural athlete and trained with Arsenals local outreach youth program for over five years learning to play football the 'Arsenal Way'. Mace loves to read mythology and particularly Norse which has been his childhood passion. Mace is one of three young actor siblings and lives in North London.
