Writer, director, and producer Jimmy T, born Jimmy D. Tyson, November 22, 1972 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Ruth Tyson and JT Thomas. He was raised in Mira, Louisiana, a small town in Northwest Caddo Parish, where he developed a love for gangsta rap music and writing. Jimmy was an exceptional student who often combined his love for rap music with class assignments. In 1990, Jimmy graduated from North Caddo High School and enrolled in Grambling State University (GSU) in Grambling, Louisiana the following year. However, after one year at GSU, Jimmy longed to start his rap career and decided to go to Los Angeles, California in hopes of launching his rap career. Though Jimmy had a strong support system and family presence in L.A., he recognized that he had to be responsible and financially independent while pursuing his dreams. In 1993, Jimmy joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, SC. While stationed there, he met his wife of over 26 years Robin. While in the Air Force, Jimmy T. continued to write rap music and after an honorable discharge in 1998, Jimmy released EP "CMN Bullet Proof Vest". He continued to pursue an independent label, helping to produce acts like Romy Rom and Lil CeeCee who are on the Squatter soundtrack, which he also executive produced. In 2005, he wrote his first of several screenplays. Recognizing the challenges associated with obtaining financial support to produce independent films, led Jimmy to write the horror film Squatter in 2010. Close to a decade later, Jimmy was in a financial position to finance and produce Squatter.
