Biography Born in Sheffield, Florence Simpson has lived in Stroud, Gloucestershire for most of her life. She explored a passion for acting as a child via youth theatre and school productions. Her relationship with theatre continued on an amateur level in her latter teen years and she achieved a personal first whilst studying for her A Levels at Stroud High Sixth Form, aged 17, with a performance as Eliza Doolittle in a local amateur production of 'Pygmalion' at the Cotswold Playhouse (2018). In the summer of 2018, Florence got her first taste of film: getting involved with independent local productions 'Philophobia' (2019) and 'Conditions' (2019). After leaving secondary education, she opted to take a couple years out, garnering life (and character!) experience working in two local Cotswold pubs. She returned to work with the local theatre company (Hexagon Theatre) on another production, 'Winter Hill', at the Cotswold Playhouse in early 2019. After leaving full-time education in 2018, she attended a local independent drama academy run by Chas Burns under whom she achieved 4 distinctions up to Grade 7 of LAMDA Speech and Drama. She is awaiting results in her Grade 8 LAMDA Speech and Drama which she studied for under Robert Madeley. Earlier this year Florence was an SA on Sky's 'A Discovery of Witches' and Danny Boyle's biopic 'Pistol' (in-production) about the Sex Pistols. She is also rehearsing an original play 'Circus of Desertion' with Hexagon Theatre to be performed at the Stroud Theatre Festival in September 2021.
