Declan Gale

Declan Gale was born on June 28, 2005, in London, England to New Zealand parents. He is a director, writer, cinematographer, actor and editor based in South-East London. From the age of five, he has made videos of all kinds, including short films - uploading them to his YouTube channel. He is currently studying Film & Media Production at the BRIT School in Croydon, where a lot of his current work is linked to. He now comes out with a film of some sort every two months or so and is submitting them to film festivals. He is fond of all forms of films and TV but is passionate about producing films in the genres of comedy, adventure and thriller. Outside of his short films, he still experiments with other forms of media, producing documentaries and videos to build on his skills. He frequently includes his father in his films who also acts as a supervisor for his work, giving him feedback and help in pre-production. His heritage is a big influence in what he produces and consumes, having being brought up on a lot of New Zealand media and culture - there are many references in his work. He is especially passionate about Taika Waititi. His school, The BRIT School is full of all sorts of skill, allowing him to have close access to musicians, actors and more to partake in his films.
