Yoshiko Fuji was born into a samurai family in Japan on the day of rain water according to the East Asian celestial calendar. Trained with the gold standards of Broadway and Cinema: William Esper, John Patrick Shanley (Doubt), Michael Howard, Jonathan Lynn (My Cousin Vinny), and Austin Pendleton. Theatre credits include Takeshi Kitano stage production of Miyako Inn and Everyone's Carol alongside Austin Pendleton and Arthur French. New York workshops/readings include The Grass Couch with Tovah Feldshuh. The Japanese government awarded Fuji an Overseas Study Programme for Artists Fellowship Grant for her work on Japanese stage.
