Bishop Channing is a Los Angeles-based actor, musician, and visual artist. Born in Lynwood, California, Channing spent the earlier parts of his engrossed in his love of music and live performance. His great-grandmother, Sarah, further nurtured his talents by enrolling the young Channing in tap-dancing classes and martial arts classes, which improved his confidence. At the age of 13, Channing discovered his love of writing after his mother wrote an unpublished novel, which inspired him to begin writing screenplays. However, it was Channing's discovery of improvisation and sketch comedy that opened his eyes as to what he wanted to do in life. At 16, he performed stand-up at the Hollywood Improv but did not continue performing stand-up comedy until the beginning of 2020. During his teen years, Channing also discovered his penchant for creating characters and impersonating known figures in pop culture. After obtaining his high school diploma, Channing attended West Los Angeles College where he majored in Computer Science but found solace and purpose in the theatrical and performing arts. Following his departure from West Los Angeles College, Channing briefly set aside his acting ambitions and worked as a customer service agent for several companies. Eventually, he relocated to Florida where he was once again employed as a customer service representative. Finding no fulfillment in his life, Channing relocated back to Los Angeles to study improv, sketch comedy, and perform stand-up. Currently, Channing continues to train with The Groundlings and The Second City to refine his improv and sketch skills, as well as pursue his separate career as a musician, filmmaker, and visual artist.
