Since the age of 6 Asher Kaplan has been passionate about making movies. With this project he found his producing partner Remy Wood and together they formed Long Road Productions. In his sophomore year in high school Kaplan was accepted to the directors intensive at USC. He attended classes and produced a short film titled "Destination", starring Vaughn Page and John Senese. This film was reviewed by all members of the class, professors, and student body and garnered him top honors in the class. Since then, Kaplan has has made several films with "Today", his Chapman submittal film, being a standout. He is currently a Junior at Chapman University, studying at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. While attending Dodge, he has made five films so far. "Liminal", starring Jon Tenney and Vaughn Page, is his most recent. With a natural talent in music, Kaplan has composed all of the original scores for his own films as well as for other filmmakers. While directing is his ambition, he has written, co-written, produced, scored and edited most of his own projects. He is inspired by the work of Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeuneve, David Fincher, and Steven Spielberg. Kaplan loves the contact point between what we experience in reality, the human experience, and pondering the unknown about the constructs of time and physics. His next film "Sonder", starring Kang Kim and Abigail Blythe, is in post production and is currently set to release in mid August. At the age of 21, Kaplan is already creating lasting relationships with his cast and crew members.
