Guthrie Roy Hartford is an American screenwriter and producer from Gardner, Massachusetts. He was born on September 16, 1988 in Newton, Massachusetts. He is best known for The Graveyard Gang, which he wrote, directed, and produced on a shoestring budget of only $5,000. The film depicts blue collar working life in a comedic and dramatic way. It was shot on location at Media News Printing in Devens, MA -- a distribution facility with a large printing press that Hartford worked at for nearly ten years. The film went on to win awards in both the U.S. and Europe during its two year festival run. He graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College and continued his education at Fitchburg State University where he received his BS in Communications Media with a concentration in film and video production. During his senior year at Fitchburg State, he interned at Walden Media (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Giver) in Burlington, MA where he performed written coverage on screenplays. Aside from his produced feature film, Guthrie has earned many awards for his unproduced screenplays. He was the recipient of the Ileen Fogarty Sullivan Award for Excellence in Screenwriting at the 2021 Twin Falls Sandwiches Film Festival in Twin Falls, Idaho. It is the highest honor a screenwriter can receive at this festival each year. A few months later, he was awarded Best Unproduced Screenplay for his feature script "Meet Me at The Sinclair" at the 2021 Fusion East and South Europe International Film Festival in Valencia, Spain and Warsaw, Poland. Additionally, he has placed as a Top 2% Finalist in The Cordillera International Film Festival in Reno, NV and The Peachtree Village International Film Festival in Atlanta, GA for his feature screenplay "Burgers and Bow Ties". Guthrie is currently working with Capital B Films on "The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands" -- an adaptation to a Stephen King short story by the same name. Guthrie is Co-writing on the project with Nicholas Bromund and the film is set for production in Spring of 2022 in Boise, ID.
