Alexander Shortt, formerly Alexander Martinson, is a Korean-American film producer, director, writer, and editor. He was adopted at five months old from Busan, South Korea and was raised in North Saint Paul, Minnesota. He moved to Florida and graduated with a BFA in Film & Media Arts at The University of Tampa in 2021. Alexander originally enrolled as a marine biology major but switched paths after two semesters to pursue his true lifelong passion of film and art. While generally working on experimental, documentary, and short narrative films, he has also worked on performance art. Through his life experiences, the main goals of his films are to create wider awareness of hot social topics such as climate change, addiction, racism, and LGBTQ+ issues.
