He was born in Mortara (Italy) and studied criminology. He is a journalist and a writer specializing in the themes of mystery and para-scientific. He has published novels and essays and collaborates with some specialized magazines and issues. He made his debut as a comics (bd) writer and then also tried his hand at screenwriting and film direction. In 2011 he made an short film entitled "Malo Momento", focusing on the theme of gambling addiction and organ trafficking. He then shot, in 2017, the mockumentary film "The Italian Secret of Lovecraft", in which he tells the possible links between H.P. Lovecraft and the occultist Alesteir Crowley and about the italian legends that inspired the writer for some of his most famous fantastic stories. In 2018 he shoots the esoteric-thriller "Saturnales" (which later became also a novel), a film in which, through an unknown painting by Goya, with mysterious alchemic powers, a sect of ruthless occultists targets the students of an Italian Academy of Art. In 2019 shoots the documentary- thriller "Florence in Black", centered on the figure of the terrible serial killer "Monster of Florence". All his film works have been broadcast on Italian TV, except Florence in Black. He is shooting the TV miniseries "The witch of Baratti" which tells the parallel lives of a modern day doctor and a probable witch, that lived in the Etruscan village of Baratti, in the 13th century and she was executed by the Inquisition. As a playwright he wrote the piece "E.A. Poe Theatre of Madness" and the theatrical successful drama "Loving Hemingway". As director Saccomano has a particular stylistic choice :that of using only non-professional actor in his movies.
