Shannon Welby

A screenwriter from the North West of Ireland, Shannon graduated with a First Class Honours in the MA in Screenwriting at National Film School, IADT. Some of her accolades to date include selection for Screen Ireland Spotlight TV Comedy 2022, progressing to next selection phase for BBC Studios Writers' Academy 2022 (in the top 26% of 1750 scripts), shortlisted to Final 30 for the Virgin Media Discovers Short Film Competition 2022, selection for X-Pollinator Development Lab backed by Screen Ireland and the BAI, and Finalist for Best Screenplay Award at Catalyst International Film Festival. 2021 saw the launch of her award-winning debut comedy drama short 'Every Limerence Helps', and her second comedy short, set on Tory Island releases is in post-production. Shannon has over five years' experience in the film and entertainment industry with Disney Ireland, Paramount Pictures France, Paramount Pictures Ireland, Dublin International Film Festival and Eclipse Pictures.
