Liana Mendoza, was born on November 19, in Los Angeles, California. Acting and singing run through Liana's veins. She is related to a treasure who left behind a legacy with his passing, Vicente Fernandez. Liana, named "Top 5 successful Spanish speaking women" by Cosmopolitan Magazine is listed alongside Penélope Cruz and Paz Vega. She was honored as a "Trailblazer Performer" by SAG-AFTRA and received Congressional recognition for her contributions to society. Beginning as a dancer at age 3 and joining a ballet company at 10. By age 12, Liana was 1 of 15 students invited to attend Hamilton High School Academy of Music and Performing Arts. At 18, her calling was clear. Liana booked the lead role of Disney's Princess Jasmine in an onstage play and performed theatre for the subsequent 3 years. Mendoza hit the books again and after her MFA in Acting, attended master class under the tutelage of world renowned teacher Ivana Chubbuck. After graduating, Mendoza was accepted into NYU Tisch School of the Arts on scholarship to complete the education needed to achieve new heights as an Actor Writer, Producer, Director. Learning from great professors and academic directors; some of which include David K. Irving, Thomas J. Mangan, Sam Pollard, and Janet Grillo. A real treat was learning from speaker and Directors Judd Apatow and Ang Lee and Producer Tom Lassally. Liana's education now equips her for a career in Production and Directing as well as Acting since graduating. Her Film and Television career began in Mexico (in the Mexican market). Soon after, she obtained prominent roles in the American Market. Starring in dramatic and comedic roles in films "Mothers and Daughters" starring alongside Susan Sarandon, Mira Sorvino and Selma Blair. "The Mailman" opposite Tony Cox (Bad Santa). Mendoza has appeared several times on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and joined the cast of many hit dramatic television shows such as Bones, Scandal, Better Call Saul, Ray Donovan, American Horror Story to name a few. She is a Voiceover actor as well on the Emmy-Award winning Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (2023). Believing in the philosophy that we all pass the elevator back down--in the words of Jack Lemmon--she involves herself in youth programs, charity organizations; Every Monday Matters, Stand up in the Halls and Students Run LA (SRLA) where she mentors at-risk youth and has trained them to run alongside her in the Los Angeles Marathon. She also fosters and rescues animals in her spare time.
