Even my earliest reports, from the masters (teachers in the US!) attempting to provide me with a classical education at the English boarding schools I attended, make reference to me 'living in his own world' and 'needs to pay better attention to what's in front of him'. But they didn't understand. I was creating! I wasn't just staring into space. I was building whole worlds, filled with unique characters suffering through terrible trials, intrepid adventures, and harrowing personal journeys. And with my mother always working on her own novels, it wasn't long before I started writing my own stories and books, eventually becoming a professional freelance writer. I wrote technical and commercial pieces, SEO, articles, but I loved fiction the most. Through study of the narrative form of movies, I found that the books I wrote read like films. It was the most dynamic way to tell a story, in my humble opinion, so that naturally transitioned to writing film scripts. I could see the characters delivering my dialogue. Hell, I could hear the soundtrack playing as the action unfolded, leading to a desire to be involved in every part of the filmmaking process and setting up a production company. Just in time for the pandemic to hit and the movie theaters to be shut down. Clever.
