Born in Vietnam, Will Truong was raised a Southern California native. He was a star athlete in high school earning himself a full-ride football scholarship to West Point. However, just days before high school graduation, in an attempt to do a back flip, Will suffered a spinal fracture that rendered him completely paralyzed from the neck down. In 2014, at 18 years old, he was told that he would be a quadriplegic for the remainder of this life. After 9 days of complete paralysis, Will showed a hopeful sign of recovery as he wiggled his finger. He was immediately transferred to a rehabilitation hospital where he spent the next 4 weeks to relearn the basic movements. After 40 days of the most exhausting mental, physical, and psychological training he would endure, he learned to walk again. Will has a TED Talk entitled, "Empowered by Will," as he shares his life story. Will became a PE teacher after earning his teaching credential and degree in Physical Education at California State University, Long Beach. In 2021, Will discovered a passion in visual storytelling, so he resigned as a teacher to pursue his dreams as an actor.
