Niamh Himsworth

At just 6 years old, Niamh Himsworth made her acting debut in Leader, a short film directed by Academy Award-winning Chris Overton as part of the Xiaomi Film Festival. This festival was organised by the global technology company to celebrate the best of cinema captured with Xiaomi's smartphones, with films featuring the theme of "The New Normal". In Leader, Niamh plays Izzy, an inquisitive girl who feels upset about the plastic waste that washes up on the beach. After speaking with Donnie, an isolated man who makes plastic sculptures on the beach, the final shots of the film show Izzy taking interest in the plastic sculptures he leaves behind as he rows out to sea, taking her frustration at the plastic waste and using it to become the next eco-conscious generation. As well as acting, Niamh loves to keep active with gymnastics and dancing. She also loves singing and can often be found learning songs from the latest Disney films. When she isn't busy with one of her many hobbies, Niamh likes to explore or hang out with one of her many pets - including a dog, two kittens, four chickens, and two guinea pigs!
