James Knowles

James Knowles is a filmmaker and native of Durham, North Carolina. He is based in Winston-Salem and wherever his next project takes him. James has served as director of photography and worked in the G&E departments on several short and feature-length films, and has written and directed several short films of his own. He has collaborated with 1716 Digital, a production company based in Charlottesvilles, Virgina. James is currently pursuing an BFA in film & cinematography from University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and expects to graduate in the spring of 2025.
