Abhi Kumar

Abhi Kumar is a screenwriter based in Singapore who has international writing experience in multiple mediums such as stage, television, audio, film, games and virtual reality. He specializes in telling Asian stories for global audiences with themes of positivity and unity. During his time in university, his play, End of the Rainbow, won the University of Michigan's prestigious Hopwood Award. He was also a member of the Bloomington Playwright's Project in Indiana where a number of his plays were performed. Abhi returned to Singapore and wrote for local TV, writing episodes on multiple sitcoms, dramas, and docudramas for the country's national media network, Mediacorp. Abhi also founded his own production studio, Warrior9, where he wrote and directed multiple short films. One of them was Mayda, which performed well in the international film circuit. He also wrote and directed a sci-fi animated series in virtual reality called The PhoenIX which premiered in Cannes and was also accepted at Busan International Film Festival. Abhi recently entered the world of audio with an original pilot for Audible called Barefoot in Bengal.
