Sahadat Russell is a Bangladeshi aspiring Independent filmmaker and Secular writer who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. Usually, he tries to focus on human rights and social issues in all of his activities. He starts his career as an assistant director and scriptwriter in this sector in 2008. He started his filmmaker career in 2013 with television fiction and television commercial direction. He has been involved in independent filmmaking since 2014. From that time to till date, he released 10 short films. He has published 4 books and 5 Documentary films. With that, he is an article writer in a reputed National newspaper. Sahadat Russell won 11 awards at film festivals in USA, India, and Bangladesh combined and each of them dealt with social issues. His first short film Face to face (2014), was a critical success, in the film Face to Face, he tries to tell the story of the anger of a traveling prostitute. Which mocks our social system. Questioning civilization. His second film, 'Definition of Politics' won two awards at Bangladesh and Indian film Festival. But he is best known for his film 'Color of Childhood' [2018]. Made against Islamic fundamentalism, the film won awards from India, Bangladesh, and America for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.
