Denisa Maria Doftoreanu, professionally known simply as Denisa Doftoreanu, is a Romanian-born, Canadian actress and dancer. She started dancing at the age of 2 in all the different genres, tap being her favorite. As she grew up, she discovered that her favorite types of dance were the ones where she got to act and play a character, and that love grew into a passion. She has been described by everyone who works with her, and who knows her, as one of the most dedicated, talented, and hardworking actors that they have ever met. Denisa had the opportunity to perform in Mexico with professional dancers, portraying Baby Nala in "The Lion King" and Jan and Marty in "Grease". After this amazing opportunity, her love for musical theatre really started, and she began landing musical theatre solos at her dance studio, winning multiple awards such as "Most Outstanding" for her solo in 2017 entitled The Stalker. In the 11th grade, Denisa joined her high school's production of "CHICAGO", playing the murderess Uh-Uh Not Guilty, along with securing the role of Dance Captain. In her senior year, she landed the supporting role in her school's film "Cry Baby", playing Mrs. Vernon-Williams. In 2019, Denisa wrote, directed, starred, edited, and produced her own short film entitled "HOME". The following year, she won the lead role of Jennifer in UBC's Brave New Play Rites show "Bloody Mary". Since then Denisa has appeared in multiple roles in both short and student films. She has played the supporting role of Laila in "The Art Battle" and the leading roles of Anne in "Astray for now", Tara in "The Girl in The Window", and the most recent being Aliya in "My Name Is...".
