Laurent Gamet is a lawyer specialized in labor law and founding partner of Factorhy Avocats. He is a professor of law at the University of Paris-Est and dean of the law faculty. A renowned and pugnacious litigator, Laurent Gamet devotes a major part of his activity to the prevention of labor litigation and the defense of companies facing such litigation. He is involved upstream in defining the strategy to avoid or deal with litigation involving significant financial risks (working hours, class actions, anxiety-related losses), criminal risks (fatal workplace accidents, serious injuries, illegal employment), social risks (conflicts with elected employee representatives and trade unions) and reputational risks (discrimination, harassment, ethics alerts, parent companies' duty of care for their international activities). He assists companies during the investigation phase (Défenseur des droits, investigation) and represents them before civil and criminal courts. Laurent Gamet also has a recognized practice in the area of corporate reorganization. In recent years, he has worked alongside companies that have undertaken major reorganizations in difficult social contexts. In addition to these specialties, which place him among the "key players" in the French market according to the specialized press, Laurent Gamet assists companies in their daily management of individual and collective labor relations, with pragmatism and responsiveness. Laurent Gamet is also a university professor. He teaches law at the University of Paris-Est-Créteil and, since 2002, at Sciences-Pô Paris. Laurent Gamet is the author of numerous books and articles on employment law in renowned legal journals. He is a regular speaker at conferences in France and abroad. He is President of the Labor Law section of the Société de Législation Comparée, member of the Association Capitant, the Association Française de Droit du Travail and the ANDRH. Laurent Gamet holds an Habilitation to Supervise Research and a doctorate in law (winner of the Lavoisier scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European University Institute of Florence). He won the first prize in the international pleading competition of the Caen Memorial.
