Don Alliss was born at home in Menlo, Iowa, to Lorraine A. Alliss, a baker and homemaker, and Walter G. Alliss Sr., a baker and entrepreneur. His father was from Michigan and mother from Iowa. Alliss grew up as the youngest of seven children. Growing up in the 70's and 80's Don loved everything about that era: the movies, music and video games. By the age of seventeen both parents had passed away due to health problems. Don's lifelong dream early on in life was to move to California and pursue an acting career. Don had a love of recreational sports and muscle cars which another dream was to build them and own a custom body shop. He has always had a love for television and movie cars so in 2003 he completed his first ground up restoration of his childhood hero movie car "General Lee" from the hit series The Dukes of Hazzard. The car had been sitting in a barn in South Dakota for 20 plus years; however Don brought the car back to life in a mere three years! Life eventually got in the way and got married and had children which was an important aspect of his life after losing his family. Alliss got his first film role in 1989 in the classic baseball movie the Field of Dreams which he absolutely loved being a part of, he eventually learned that actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were extras in this movie at the same time as him although they were at Fenway Park filming their scenes and he was at the actual Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. Matt and Ben went on to become huge successful actors and Don found his own success down a different path of life. Even though it took many years to get back to the world of film and acting after the Field of Dreams, Don has played many roles in movies and commercials as well as executive producer and transportation coordinator. Don's most notable work to date is his multiple roles in the thriller/horror Condition of Return where he worked alongside AnnaLynne McCord and Dean Cain. He also assisted in locating movie cars for this film. Don also found movie cars for the action/crime film, Glass Fences, as one of the lead Picture Car Coordinators. In the drama, So Called Leaders, Don played a restaurant patron. Pay to Die is a comedy/horror film where Don was executive producer and played the character Theo. His latest work as Ben Samuels in the Horror film, Bring Me A Skin for Dancing In, stars Vernon Wells who played in Commando (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Mad Max (starring Mel Gibson). In his personal life, Don is happily married to Erin Alliss. They married in a private ceremony on October 9, 2020, in a small church in Nashville, TN. The couple have 11 children - nine sons and two daughters. The sons are Taylor, Jamie, Nick, Caleb, Cayden, Camron, Dylan, Colten and Dominick. The two daughters are Courtney and Caleigh. Don has always enjoyed family time, friends, cars, movies, and riding motorcycles. His children are very active in various sports, acting and piano. It gives him great joy to watch them do the things they enjoy and love.
