Kimberly Koltyk

Kimberly Koltyk is a Ukrainian American actress born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. Coming from a family of working musicians, that was her family's focus for her at a young age, playing Clarinet for many years as well as chorus, and dabbling a bit with the guitar as well with her father as her teacher. But she knew from a very young age, that as much as she loved music and wanted to follow in the footsteps of her family, acting and movies were really where her heart was. Watching all the old teen comedy's, especially anything John Hughes, or John Waters. Loving the feeling of living vicariously through her favorite characters. She went many years without pursuing her dream, due to a lack of knowledge into the industry etc. Until about 4 years ago, when she took a trip to Wilmington, NC to see filming locations, production studios and even watch a episode of her favorite TV show being filmed right in the small town of Wilmington. It was at that very moment that it hit her, that if they could do it in such a small town, why not in Detroit? Life is too short to not chase your dreams. The day she got back to Michigan she enrolled herself into acting classes, signed on with a agency & a few extras casting directors, and it was right around then that Michigan passed the 42% tax incentive, it was as if it were a meant to be. She has been non stop ever since, getting to meet many cool Celebritys as well as make some very cool connections and friends along the journey. She would like to take this as far as she can, and hopes to keep the film industry alive here in Michigan and would like to one day move to California. She has a huge admiration for David Lynch and all his film work.
