Before moving abroad, Johnathan had an extensive career as a child and young performer in South Africa appearing in numerous shows including Oliver! (Oliver), Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn (Tom Sawyer), Boogie Nights, Spirit of Broadway, Sleeping Beauty, Noises Off! (Garry/Roger), Pickwick: The Musical (Sam Weller) & Fame (Nick Piazza). His work in South Africa extended into film and TV appearing in Kideo, K-TV and several short films. As a young adult he appeared in the controversial series "Ietermago" as Kosie Wroggeman. It was Johnathan's passion for Irish & Highland dancing however that has taken him around the world - performing in many of the world's most prestigious venues to more than 10 million people. After a successful competitive career winning South African championships and subsequent world championship placings, he turned his focus to Irish dance shows. As principal dancer, choreographer, dance captain & singer, he has been involved in many of the industry's most celebrated Irish-based dance shows including Gaelforce Dance, Riverdance, Rhythm Of The Dance, Dance Of Desire, Spirit Of Ireland, Ragus & Irish Dance Masters. After gaining his MA at the Guildford School of Acting, he appeared in City of Angels (Stone), The Boyfriend (Tony), A Slice Of Life (Dennis) & When Midnight Strikes (Christopher West). In 2009, he had the privilege of being invited to work with the "Summer Repertory Theatre" in California, USA for their summer season in The Wedding Singer (Robbie Hart), Lend Me A Tenor (Bellhop) & Mame (Uncle Jeff & Gregor). In the last year he has appeared in "On Eagle's Wing's" touring Holland and most recently in the UK and European tour of "Evita" as the show's dance captain and 1st cover Peron. Slowly deciding to move into the world of choreography, he was the co-choreographer of Celtic Journey in which he was also the principal dancer, as well as Cinderella starring Joanna Page, Jon Lee & Michael Aspel. His greatest honor was to choreograph & perform in an original piece for his late friend, Stephen Gately at his memorial concert held in the West End at the Palace Theatre.
