Joel Daniel George is an independent Aboriginal Filmmaker in Quinte West, ON Canada. He was born on December 3rd, 1987 in Hanover, ON but moved to the Bay of Quinte area when he was 10 years old. After working as a freelancer and graduating from Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Etobicoke, Joel moved to Trenton, ON with his wife Tamara Lynn George and began raising a family. After relocating, Joel established Prime Focus Productions [ca], a web video company, as well as Cinema Quinte and The Movie Years Today, which is a film festival that celebrates the origins of Canada's Film History. From 1917 to 1932, Trenton was a bustling film centre with a major studio and dozens of production companies trying to make it on the Big Screen. Over 1500 documentaries and films were created in those 15 short years, including Carry On, Sargeant!, a silent film with a budget of $500,000 in 1928. Joel is known for his short inspirational films and documentaries that encourage the pursuit of life, and for efforts to revive Trenton's once vibrant film industry and re-establish a film studio in the birthplace of Canada's Film Industry.
