Daniel Matyas is a filmmaker from Dallas, Texas. He began his filmmaking career in the 7th grade and was inspired by his teacher, Corbin Doyle, to continue pursuing film as a career. Daniel credits such filmmakers as Terrence Malick, Akira Kurosawa, Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson, and Fritz Lang as his greatest influences and has traveled to Iceland and New Zealand with National Geographic to study filmmaking and photography. His short films have screened at festivals such as Guts and Glory Dallas (2008), AFI Dallas (Girl Scout [2009], Cut All Expenses [2010]), Dallas International Film Festival (Boom [2011]), and South by Southwest (Cut All Expenses [2010], Boom [2012]). Some of Daniel's frequent collaborators include Russell Grindstaff, Andrew Fields, Brian Broder, Will Kraus, and Cole Sadler.
