Jason Starkey (August 19th, 1967) was born in Queen Charlotte's Hospital in Hammersmith, London, to The Beatles' drummer Ringo Starr and his first wife, Maureen Starkey. He has one older brother, drummer Zak Starkey and one younger sister, fashion designer and make-up artist Lee Starkey. His parents divorced when he was 7 years old, his mother, Maureen, had custody of Jay, Zak Lee with Starr having visitation rights. In the mid 1980's he played drums in a succession of bands including Buddy Curtis and the Grasshoppers, The People's Friend, Empire Of Sponge, and with his brother Zak, Musty Jack Sponge and the Exploding Nudists. However Jason mostly stayed out of the public eye- however in 1987 was fined £125 after being caught stealing a car stereo, and two years later appeared twice in court on drugs charges. Jason continued to drum for various bands. On December 30, 1994, Jason was at his mother's side with his family when she died from complications of leukemia. In later years Jason worked in the music industry, becoming a road manager and drummer, and also a photographer. He once described his famous family as a burden, saying: "Being Ringo Starr's son is the biggest drag of my life. It's a total pain." Jason lives in England with designer Flora Evans Starkey. Their first child, son Louis Starkey was born in the summer of 1999. In 2002, his brother, Sonny Starkey, was born. In 2009, Jason and Flora welcomed their third son, Rock Starkey. Jason and Flora have a fourth son, Budy, born on June 24th 2011. Jason and Flora married in 2010.
