Director and writer, Lucie Groene, born Horovice, Czech Republic. During her time at the Humboldt University in Berlin (1994-1999, Germany), she also immersed herself in TV, beginning work as a news reporter. She would soon become chief reporter and producer of a medium-sized television studio in Prague, and a foreign correspondent for TV News. In 1999, she accepted an offer to work for the most influential television network in Central Europe, which belonged to the American CME (later sold to Time Warner). 2005 she moved to the U.S and after 3 years graduated from the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan (Directing/Motion Picture Production). Her directing teacher was Douglas Schulze, Director of "Hellmaster", "Dark Heaven", "Dark Fields" - one of David Carradine's last Films. 2008 she directed and produced "The Beggar's Story" which received the honor to be one of the best short films out of more than 1,300 entrants for The International Family Film Festival in Hollywood, CA. The movie also won awards at other festivals for Best Picture and Art Direction. Currently, her scripts are in development including a major film studio with several Oscar nominations. As a director, Lucie is mainly interested in period pieces, stories with political backdrops and crime dramas. She speaks English, Czech and German.
