Ever since he could remember Ian has always wanted to be a filmmaker. At the age of 13 he was inspired by the comedy film Bowfinger which guided his ambitions to focus on the spirit of film making. After making home movies with his friends, working at the local Cineplex movie theater and volunteering for local media outlets such as Shaw TV, Ian took courses in film theory and photography in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, before embarking on a more professional journey of Film Production at Confederation College in Thunder Bay. Since 2009, Ian graduated film school and started working within the industry right away. Learning and absorbing as much knowledge and skill that he could. Along with the guidance of esteemed mentors, he moved up quickly from PA to Location Manager in just a few short years. He then expanded his horizons in front of the camera, taking courses at Second City Toronto, securing an acting agent and booking commercial gigs for multiple high-end brand companies. Most notably as a principal in a US National Mark's Work Warehouse commercial spot featured on Monday Night Football throughout 2017 and then again in an Interstate Battery spot in 2018. With a strong interest in music, Ian also dabbles in singing, performing and live concert photography as side projects. He is a true student of film having watched and studied over 20,000 movies, being inspired by filmmakers such as John Cassavettes, Robert Altman, George Roy Hill, Hal Ashby, Brian De Palma, Walter Hill, Alfred Hitchcock and Alan J. Pakula. Getting back to his original roots of writing, directing and producing his own material, he is focused more than ever. Having started his own production company, ReelPozz Productions. Ian is one of the most ambitious, well-rounded minds in Canadian film, embodying skills and knowledge far beyond his years on both the creative and business side.
