Emmie Seaton was born in Yokohama, Japan, to Australian parents Paul (ex Diplomat and Business Manager) and Leonora (Teacher). Just over a year after Emmie's first birthday, the family moved to Singapore where a second daughter, Sophie Louise was born. In 1997, the family returned to Emmie's parents' native Brisbane and resided there until 2001, when they moved overseas again, this time to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. In Dubai, Emmie and her sister attended Emirates International School where their mother worked as a teacher and administrator. It was here Emmie took up extra-curricula lessons in drama, due to the fact that her first love, gymnastics, was not offered. Two years later, Emmie's parents separated and she moved back to Brisbane with her mother and sister. Despite an offer to return to work in the Middle East for the Jordanian Royal family, Emmie's mother decided a normal life in the suburbs close to family was the best move for her young daughters. At the age of 10, Emmie took up acting lessons once again, firstly at the Brisbane Arts Theatre and then with the nation-wide performing arts company, Brightstars. After attending two years at her local high school, Emmie was granted entry as a theatre major into the academic selective, International Baccalaureate program at the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries. In 2010, at the age of 14, Emmie was offered her first professional role in David Harrower's award winning play, Blackbird, at Brisbane's prestigious La Boite Theatre Company. Since that time she has studied with NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) and worked on several short films, including the internet sensation, To Claire; From Sonny (2010).
