Rick Montoya

I grew up in West Covina California which is a suburb of Los Angeles CA. I was always interested in acting but was too busy playing baseball in high school and in college. It's when I attended New Mexico State University that I started taking acting classes. And continued to get my degree from New Mexico Highlands University in Mass Communications specializing in TV/Film Production. Thats where I wrote, produced, directed, edited and acted in my own 30 minute short film. Which was recognized by Victor Kubicek who was working on a TV show called Medal of Honor. I was hired to star n the pilot opposite Steven Seagal. But after that fell through I moved to New York did a couple Independent films and studied acting at New York Film Academy. I got my big break while in New Mexico when I audition for director David Boyd . I landed a guest starring role on The Night Shift on NBC playing Detective Pete Moreno. I also was featured in a film which went to TV called The Family Business opposite Armand Assante and Nick Turturro. I was also recently featured in a TV show called Pump directed by Corey Grant. I am now residing in Albuquerque New Mexico.
