Elisa Jaffe is the new host of Well READ where she continues the show's long tradition of literary conversations with some of today's most interesting and engaging authors. Elisa is also the afternoon news anchor for KOMO Radio in Seattle. For nearly 30 years as a Seattle journalist, Elisa has reported for Good Morning America, KOMO TV, KOMO radio, KVI radio, and produced and hosted Northwest Afternoon (KOMO-TV). She has interviewed a who's who of newsmakers during her career including Presidents Obama and Carter, celebrities such as Rob Lowe and Ellen DeGeneres, icons from royalty to rock stars, and authors from true crime to novelists. Elisa has earned an Edward R. Murrow award and multiple Emmy Awards and for her reporting, writing, and producing. Her career in Seattle includes reporting and anchoring for KOMO 4 News; serving as host and executive producer of Northwest Afternoon (1992-2007), the award-winning daily talk show; hosting the morning drive news radio program Smart Talk Mornings on 570 KVI and the afternoon drive-time radio program on KOMO-AM; and doing voice-over work for STAR 101.5 Radio and charitable causes. Elisa is very active in the Greater Seattle community and often can be seen emceeing and supporting fundraisers for a number of organizations. Elisa is a busy mother to a wonderful college kid, and stepmom to 3 lovely young adults. Married, Elisa says she is "so lucky to have found a partner who adores me and my family." Aside from hosting Well READ weekly and anchoring KOMO News Radio during afternoon drive, Elisa devotes much of her spare time to non-profits including the Crisis Clinic of King County, Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's Chorus.
