Sonny Chatrath is an Indian American Actor, and Producer from New Jersey. Sonny was born in New Delhi, India to an Indian Air Force officer and a Hotel Executive. He grew up in Jodhpur, and Kathmandu, Nepal. He graduated high school from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kathmandu, and attended Queensboro Community College, and Baruch College in New York. Sonny entered the film industry with "9 Eleven" as lead actor, Dr. Rahat Khan and was nominated for best actor for his work in this film. He also appeared in several features, Short Films, Television Commercials, as well as several Hosting projects. He recently interviewed India Cricket Legends Harbhajan Sing and Anil Kumble. Sonny is also an avid Home Chef, and he cooks his version of popular Indian dishes for friends and family. He was a celebrity cooking contestant on the 2012 Varli Celebrity Cookoff, which was telecast live throughout the US, and India. He was recently asked to prepare a dish for a popular dairy company's website using a very popular Chef's recipe which is prominently displayed on their website. Sonny turned producer with a comedy web series called "Friends Forever" which was loved by the viewers. Sonny Executive Produced "Proof", a short film by Nora Jaenecki, which will be released to film festivals world-wide in 2019. Sonny will host the popular show "Vision of Asia" for ITV Gold, which is the very first Network Television Station for Indian Americans in the U.S In 2013, Sonny launched a successful group on Facebook for South Asian Actors. The group is very popular among actors and film makers of South Asian origin. Sonny's group has been featured in the media frequently. South Asian Film makers, as well as Actors from around the world know of the group and ask to be inducted into the group. Sonny's Facebook Group is regularly mentioned in the local North American media, and several films and TV commercials have been cast from within the group.
