Kellie is an accomplished communicator, representing international fashion, beauty and technology brands, managing media relations, public relations, brand strategy and creative design. She hosted two successful television programs and has had small acting roles on national prime-time drama series. Kellie earned her B.A. in Public Relations and M.A. in Communications at the Hawaii Pacific University. In 2004, Kellie represented the State of Hawaii at the "Miss International" competition in Beijing, China. She served as the chairperson of Women Speaking Out, a nonprofit organization preventing violence against women. She is also the founder of the Finance for Life, a youth focused financial literacy program and supporter of CASA Orange County. Kellie grew up in a small town nestled on a narrow isthmus of land appropriately named Two Harbors on Catalina Island. The population never exceeded 200 year-round and always doubled in the summer months when California's seaworthy would spend the season yachting along Catalina's protected coast. Although the summers were full of excitement, her life was one of solitude. She attended a one-room school through elementary and later her mother registered their home as a private school so that she and her brother could study at home rather than spend a significant amount of their youth on a bus commuting to and from the only high school on the island. The Peterson home was a school, an art studio, and a sanctuary for injured animals. Kellie grew up around books and loves literature and art. She writes and paints and sketches as often as possible and is inspired by nature, artists, philosophers, scientists, dreamers and potential.
