Brett was destined for work in films, getting hooked early in his childhood into storytelling by his mother, a passionate librarian, and his father, a math and physics whiz who worked in an explosives factory and part time in the Australian military, who would teach him how various stunts and special effects could be created. Further, to escape the boredom of growing up in a small country town, in his early school years, he would often sneak to his friends' houses to watch R-rated action films uninterrupted by parents. In his teenage years he watched countless DVDs, studying the behind the scenes footage and directors commentaries for gems of knowledge to incorporate into his own stop motion and live action films he was now making on his home camera. Moving to Melbourne, Australia at age 18, he immediately sort work in related industries to action films to "get paid to study" as he waited for his turn as a stunt man. He has worked as a qualified pyrotechnician working internationally in large fireworks shows inc the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pacific Games 2015 and special effects for films, theater, music videos, bands and music festivals. Brett has also worked as a bus and truck driver (clocking up some 12000 hours in hundreds of vehicles). He is competent with ropes and as a rigger having worked with bands such as the Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mumford and sons and many others, as well as working as an IRATA rope access window cleaner and on mobile phone towers often seen above 500ft in the air. Brett is skilled in a variety of firearms having spent time in the Australian military and competing in shooting competitions from age 5 to early adulthood.
