Wes Fisher was born in Charleston, SC, and raised in Northern VA, just outside Washington DC. His mother, Margaret Corletti, is a Unitarian-Universalist minister, and his father, Ron Fisher, is a retired Navy Captain turned anti-war activist. Wes has three brothers. An avid lover of films since he was a child, Wes made short films as a child in the 80's with his father's Betamax. He attended J.E.B. Stuart High School and then Princeton University. After graduating from college, Wes worked in 45 countries as a State Department contractor then spent two years in Thailand volunteering with tsunami rebuilding efforts. In 2007, he relocated to San Francisco. Wes first studied screenwriting and filmmaking through the San Francisco Film Society, and then began his filmmaking career after joining Scary Cow, an independent short film collective. He has directed five short films, three of which he wrote. Wes writes feature-length screenplays, which he plans to direct. He lives in the Bay Area with his wife Funn Fisher, an architect and graphic designer who was the production designer on all of his short films.
