Joshua Belinfante has crewed on TV series for Discovery Channel, Nat Geo, SBS, Channel 9 & ABC, as well as music videos for international artists. Recent broadcast credits include 'Hawke: The Larrikin & The Leader' for ABC, a true crime series for Foxtel 'Debi Marshall Investigates: Frozen Lies' and 'The Mosque Next Door' an observational documentary series for SBS and 'Miriam Margolyes: Almost Australian' for the ABC. He recently edited Dr Enda Murray's feature documentary 'Irish troubadour Áine Tyrrell' which premiered in July 2021 at the Galway Film Fleadh. Recent corporate clients include Seiko, Adobe, Sonos, Australian Super, Downer, CatholicCare, The Haymarket Foundation, ACOSS and Jobs Australia. He has been teaching since 2008 and teaches at USYD, NIDA, UON. He has taught Summer school programs at the University of Technology Sydney ('UTS') and taught industry journalists through the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism. He has taught filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, Sydney & Gold Coast and at SFS & SAS. His animated live action films 'Everything That Clunked Along Today...' and 'Cut Down The Puppet Strings' screened at 20 international film festivals. 'Clunk' was accepted into festivals like SUFF where it screened on TV, winning an audience choice award. In 2020 Joshua won 3rd jury prize in the TAKE48 film competition for his stop motion film 'The Big Sweet'. His short film 'We Brie-Long Together' won 'Best Mini Short Film' at SF3 Smart Phone Film Festival in Sydney. In 2020 Joshua was accepted into a filmmaking accelerator run by German filmmaker Werner Herzog in the Colombian Jungle along with 49 other international filmmakers. The experience pivoted online and under Herzog's guide he created 3 short video diaries centred around the experience of living in the pandemic. His short 'Requires Review' screened at 10 festivals and won numerous awards such as 'Best Short Documentary' from the HongKong Arthouse Film Festival and Around International Festival in Berlin. Joshua has also presented two scenes of his anthology feature film, 'The World's Best Film' at Dances With Films at The Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. His feature documentary 'The World's Best Film' had it's cinematic premiere in Perth at the Revelation Film Festival at Luna Cinemas and was nominated for an audience choice award at MDFF. He won a 'Special International Filmmaker Award' from 'NewsFest' & an 'Honorary Lonely Wolf Award for outstanding achievements & exceptional contributions to independent filmmaking' from the 'Lonely Wolf Film Festival' in the UK. The film won 'Best International Documentary' at Marina Del Rey Film Festival and 'Best International Documentary' from the NewsFest in Las Vegas. To date the film has screened at over 25 film festivals and picked up numerous accolades. The film premiered on SBS in Australia in December 2021. He's spoken about filmmaking on ABC Radio National, ABC Newcastle, 2SER, 3CER, RTRFM and other radio stations. In 2021 Joshua co-ordinated the Blue Heeler Film Festival in Muswellbrook along with the University of Newcastle and the Muswellbrook Shire council. Joshua has a BA COM (Media Arts Production) / LLB from UTS, is an admitted solicitor to the Supreme Court of NSW. He also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and completed the Teaching Development Program at Sydney Uni in 2021.
