Award-winning Scottish writer-director Mark Forbes from Aberdeenshire studied broadcast media at Aberdeen College. Mark's films have won 10 awards and has had 68 Film festival selections. His first film Hobgoblin was written by his stepdad Norman Adams, an acclaimed writer who wrote books on horror and comics. 'Hobgoblin' was shown at the Raindance Film Festival 2000. They collaborated on Mark's first series of short films. Mark also made the documentary Nights of Burlesque which was shown at the Portobello Film Festival London in 2013. In February 2021 his award winning documentary, Memories of Mortlake which has appeared in over 37 film festivals and has won 10 awards for Best Short Documentary. It was made completely by Mark without a crew or any budget. Mark exclusively has been filming using Panasonic Lumix GH cameras since 2018. In 2021, while living in Switzerland Mark filmed his Short Documentary Erwin W. Wyrsch: The Photo Journalist which appeared in 15 film festivals and was nominated for a Unofex Swiss Film Award. Continuing in 2021 Mark filmed a 3 part web series Tobias and the Angel in December and again made without a crew or any finance. In late 2022 Mark completed his debut feature film Mother & Wild that has been selected for by 13 film festivals and has won 2 awards for Best Indie Feature. In 2023 working on his 2nd, 3rd feature and 2 feature documentaries which he hopes to get into production.
