Ricardo directed and edited his first documentary at age fifteen about the National Sailing Championship in Brazil, which he also happened to win. A few years later he was admitted to the Theatre school in a prestigious program in Brazil and soon after got a full scholarship to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He continued his studies at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting, got a partial scholarship to the Shakespeare & Co. in Massachusetts, and returned to LA to continue his studies. Screenwriting was his first passion and he wrote the arguably first sequel to Alien, at age 14. He studied and met some of the greatest names in screenwriting. First English screenplay submitted 'Storm' became a semifinalist at Zoetrope. He also produced, directed, and adapted a Neil Simon Broadway play. Meeting one of his favorite writers was a high point in his career. Developed the Journey of Writing program for PUC-RJ extension program where he taught executives, directors, animators and film students alike on the art of the craft. He worked for several years as a consultant helping dozens of novices and veterans take their projects to a higher level. The last consultant work in Brazil won best screenplay at the Paulinea Film Festival and Film of the Year in 2012 at the prestigious Gramado film festival in Brazil. He wrote two original TV series, and is working on a third one. He was recently a semifinalist at the Warner Brother's Writing Program. He has a lifelong passion and interest in Science Fiction and aspects of human and technology interaction at the social, moral, and cognitive levels.
